iSTEx: I Share The Experience

 Hope without human effort is empty.  Hope is associated with the fulfillment of our vital needs. On a daily basis, we use the word hope. We wish for things to happen, things we believe we need. Some of our wants are fairly reasonable while others are simply just outrageous. The other Sunday, I walked by a church in my neighborhood and on passing by, I heard the preacher during their prayer session say this year of 2022, ‘you shall not fall sick’, ‘everything will work for your good’ and it got me thinking. It has become normal that such bold declarations are made and we the congregation believe and sing these phrases like mantras unaware of the true implications of such bold statements. I understand the above example can be interpreted as acts of faith but can you really have faith without hope? It is simply impossible: for in faith, we hope. There are some restrictions that come in our way that we just have to respect,it's not giving up, just understanding that the time isnt right.       I love and have always loved music but at one point I felt like giving up on it. Back in high school I always loved singing to the point of writing down my own songs but actually I didn't have the opportunity to join any choir because of my busy schedule. Fortunately I made it to the university and was so excited I'll have a loose timetable and also the opportunity to join a choir. Behold i joined my school choir. Everything was going on smoothly at the beginning when I just joined the University, till my guardian found out. Once my life as a chorister was made known to him, he forbade me from ever taking part in anything that had to do with the choir including me attending rehearsals and concerts organized by the choir.
